This year is 2006, and our enemies have just launched a series of bioterrorism attacks on Taiwan soil with various bioweapons. Dooms day deems inevitable. Our government is eager to develop compact diagnostics systems to provide triage to screen large numbers of people against the outbreaks of diseases that are bogging down our local healthcare systems. Most of them expressed flu-like symptoms at the early stage that later were identified as SARS, and anthrax.
You are a MEMS engineer proposing to develop such a system, and will come up with the basic construct of an integrated diagnostics system using Microsystems technologies. You will compare it to current laboratory protocols performed by hospital laboratories in order to persuade government to give you the research contract.
